This new painting engine creates a very good foundation for not only current, but also future tools in Pixelmator that relate to painting. The result is a new painting engine that delivers smoothness, excellent performance, and new brush settings for painting tools in Pixelmator. In fact, we did a complete rewrite of painting foundation in Pixelmator to improve on what we had before and create more power and features for the Brush, Pencil, Eraser, Clone Stamp, Blur, and Sharpen tools. Much of the work we did for Pixelmator 1.4 Sprinkle was for the new painting engine. There was much discussion during the development stage about a 1.4 release, and we came to the conclusion that Pixelmator 1.4 Sprinkle is what version 1.0 should have been: a beautiful, stable, and useful image editor for the rest of us.Īnd then since we are celebrating Sprinkle’s birth, let’s talk about the new features in detail: We worked diligently for several months and I hope you like the results. Paint Shop Pro, Adobe you have to pay for given this program will probably not remain free its nice to see you have a chance to see what the program is capable of. As it stands right now ITS FREE as well and free for 180 days. What makes it terrible? Why is paint shop pro better? What do they need to do to make it better? It behaves like Adobe and seems to have the same idea involved I've only been testing for a couple of hours but no crashing and no problems yet and if there are problems ITS BETA meaning ITS NOT FINISHED YET. If something needs to be improved tell microsoft about it don't go on a message board and start off by saying its terrible. How can you comment on something and say it will be better if it isnt even finished yet? It would be great if this works well because Adobe is overpriced.I will reserve judgement until I see a final because as you know THIS IS BETA and people bashing on the product rather then reviewing it is getting tired.
